Two AI wearables. One decision. Let me save you two weeks of research.
I build on the Omi platform full time. I have shipped three apps on it, and I have tested Limitless head to head. Short answer: if you want a device to build on or install third-party apps for, Omi wins. If you want a polished, closed-system meeting tool with no setup, Limitless is smoother out of the box. The $20 price difference is not the deciding factor. The ecosystem difference is.

Shop Omi at omi.meThe Core Difference in One Paragraph
Omi is a developer-first AI wearable. It has a REST API, a webhook system, an MCP server, and an open marketplace where anyone can publish apps. The company's entire product strategy is to be the platform layer for AI wearable apps. You can build on top of it, install what other people built, or use the default features it ships with.
Limitless is a consumer-first AI wearable. It captures your day, transcribes it, and feeds it into a polished AI assistant inside the Limitless app. The experience is tighter and more refined. But you cannot build on it, install third-party apps, or wire it to your own infrastructure. What ships is what you get.

Where Limitless Wins
Limitless wins on out-of-box meeting intelligence. If your primary use case is capturing meetings, getting a summary and action items at the end of the day, Limitless is smoother. The default app is more polished. The AI summaries are clean. The recall feature works well for pulling back up who said what in a meeting last Tuesday.
The Limitless team has also built a browser extension and desktop app that syncs your captured audio with a calendar context layer. So it knows you were in a meeting with Sarah at 2pm and can attribute the conversation accordingly. That contextual overlay is genuinely useful and Omi does not have an equivalent built in.
Where Omi Wins
Price. $79 versus $99. The hardware is a commodity. The ecosystem is the value.
Developer access. If you want to build custom integrations, Omi is the only choice. Limitless has no public API. There is no way to wire it to your CRM, your project management tool, your Tesla, or your own database. Omi has all of that built in from the start.
App ecosystem. The Omi marketplace has apps for voice note vaulting, life logging, Tesla control, sales call coaching, fitness tracking, journaling, and more. New apps ship regularly. Limitless has no equivalent.
Community. The Omi Discord is active. The developer community around Omi is building real things. That flywheel is spinning.
Who Should Buy Each
Buy Omi if: you want to install third-party apps or build your own, you want a voice-powered life logging or note-taking system, you drive a Tesla and want voice command integration, or you work in a vertical where custom AI documentation tools would save time.
Buy Limitless if: you primarily want clean meeting summaries with no configuration, you want a polished closed consumer app, and you do not intend to build on the device or install third-party apps.
